Elephants Helping Elephants Worldwide (EHEW) is designed to harness the immense powers of NFTs and Crypto to help preserve and rescue our giant friends.

EHEW is minting 15,000 unique NFTs. EHEW is structured so that all funds from 12,000 NFTs must go towards elephant sanctuaries and related projects helping elephants globally. (3000 NFTs are reserved for expenses, promotion, and rewarding the humans who help the elephants in this project.)

The WWF reports that African elephants will be extinct by 2040 if we don’t move with immediacy to protect and preserve one of the globe’s most gentle and iconic species.

Our NFTs are somewhat different than recent offerings of generative art cartoon drawings. The rarity factor of most of the generative art offerings is determined by how common the different features are which are used throughout the series on an individual NFT. For example, if only a few NFTs have a feature such as a golden earring, or special sunglasses, that makes that NFT rarer than others in the series.

Our elephant NFTs are grouped into special categories; rarity is determined by the number of NFTs published in that category, compared to the entire minting. For example, there is a special category of only 150 special NFTs with features setting them apart from the entire issue of 15,000. These features give these NFTs a rarity factor of 1%, meaning only 150 NFTs out of the entire issue of 15,000 have these features. There is also a special block of 15 NFTs, with a rarity factor of 0.1%, and a block of 1500 NFTs, with a rarity factor of 10%. While many of the NFTs are offered at a fixed price, many of the rarer items will be offered at auction.

The elephants are very inclusive and want to offer some NFTs at really low prices to allow first-time NFT buyers a chance to become members of EHEW. A number of NFTs will be priced very low and offered with a request of only one to a buyer. These will be sprinkled in with the regular offerings, keeping things interesting by offering a bit of a treasure hunt for first-time buyers.

The main difference between our elephants’ NFTs and many others is where your money goes when you invest in an NFT. Every cent from 12,000 of the NFTs goes directly to an elephant sanctuary, rescue or similar project. The remaining 3000 NFTs are used to cover all the expenses, promotion, and to reward all those volunteers who helped make our project a success.
